Currently, orthodontic clinics are closed to foot traffic but they are available if there is an emergency and notifications are sent out to the patients whenever Governor Brown or the American Orthodontic Association has new updates. Many orthodontists have launched virtual assistance and can provide advice, support, and tips via phone, text and FaceTime/webcam. Kids in the ASK program continue to follow guidelines for oral hygiene, small fixes to random wires and general maintenance. In-office appointments will start back up after the clinics re-open.
We are quite amazed at how inventive everyone has been through this health scare and we think some of the new practices will remain in place after we go back to some semblance of “normal”.
